Emer Notes: Where is Acela Express

Acela Express has been delayed again according to two sources. Amtrak is not looking very reliable with this delay. I think it is just terrible that Amtrak said that Acela Express would originally be out in October of 1999 and is still not here.

Acela Express will have service from Boston to New York. Currently, it takes 4 hours on Acela Regional and 5 hours by Northeast Direct. It is 45 minutes by plane but in May only 68.6 percent of the arrivals in Logan were on time. This is bad that so many flights had delays. Is this a reliable form of transportation? If the Acela Express trains run on time people may take them instead of planes.

The airport service has been so bad that people have been taking limos from Boston to New York. Limos cost anywhere from $200 to $900. They take 3 and a half hours for the trip.

Acela Express will bring a great option to people who want to commute between Boston to New York. It is disappointing Acela Express trains aren’t here yet.
